Another DeviantART rant
People on DA can be so freaking pretentious.
On DA's main page just now, in the "newest" section, there was this one-sentence poem that read:
The sun
shines for
the souls of
the innocent that
seek salvation
Immediately I thought to myself, "If you're innocent, then why do you need to seek salvation?" It made no freaking sense. So I clicked on it, hoping the poem was going to explain itself.
Nope, that's all there was. That was really it. The poem was by a user who called herself "ogothangel." Oh brother. What's more, the poem itself was called "Devine Light". Not how you spell "divine."
I was the first person to comment, and I said exactly what I thought of it before. I wasn't nasty or anything.
The next person to comment after me, a person who called themselves "loveondeathswings" praised the poem and even added it to their favorites.
God damn, this is one of the main reasons I hate deviantART. Because any asshole can throw their bullshit up there and call it art, and a bunch of ignorant 'tards are always there to praise the garbage. You can't give a real critique on DA and not expect some freak-out backlash from the artist, and you can never expect a real critique on your own work. And the crap just keeps coming. And what's worse: these people get so full of themselves that they actually believe this is art.
