Never did mention that

So I had a job. And now it is gone again. For about 6 weeks I worked with the US Census as a Crew Leader/Trainer. They had told us we would get to work for 60 days at least, but I guess we trained people too well because we finished an 8 week campaign in 7 business days. Got an email yesterday which I am interpreting as my bosses saying "Crackerjack job people. Now you're all getting fired. We may call you in the fall." I know some co-workers and some people I even trained feel cheated or deceived at not getting the 60 days, but it's a temp job and this is how they work now. At least it's given me a bit of breathing room. I should definitely last through my birthday, and maybe as long as August 1. My lease is up on September 1 and I'm not sure what I'm going to do after that. I want to stay in Chicago more than anything in the world, but I just may not be able to. We'll just have to see.

In other news, since I'm not getting any acting gigs, I figured I'd better do something to keep myself in shape. I got a pretty big tax return and used part of it to sign up for a class with Improv Olympics. It starts May 2. Maybe not the best use of my money at this point, but my butt is not going to be saved in this city with $260. That will pay for my credit card for a month, and not much else. So why not?
