EARLY in the Morning

There's nothing like the feeling of waking up at 4:20am and feeling wide awake!  I came home and was exhausted so I fell asleep around 8:50pm.  Now I have the energy I've been looking for.  We'll see.  If this works for me, I'll have to make a habit of it!

How are you all doing?  I have written in here very little lately.  I want you to pray for the ministry of Cornerstone Church in Okemos-- their Indian International Church.  Pray that God's annointing continually rests there and that the right people are drawn in.  The group is very small, but the Sunday Night services are Holy Spirit-led and completely based on Scripture.  It brings intense conviction on me every time.  I want to see cassette tapes from those services dispersed widely.

What would God have me do right now?  I have so many potential things on my plate that it's easy to just go through the motions of life.  Please pray for me that I develop new habits and shuck off condemnation and embrace restorative daily repentance beginning each day anew!

I praise the Lord for the joys and difficulties of my job.  Thank You Lord for teaching me more each day how to love Your children.  I'm frustrated that I don't get enough hours, but every hour I work is blessed.  I have so many new strategies I gain from working at Tutor Time and many projects I'm learning how to do.

1.  Felt Story board--- better used with laminated pictures and velcro attached

2.  Cheap Pictures from Wall Calendars set on a cardboard back fastened together using wall roll laminate and then cut out into puzzles

3.  Paint mixed with glue--  put in milk cartons to create fake spills

4.  Finger paint mixed with shampoo.  When dries becomes scratch and sniff art.  (Scent of the shampoo, make sure washes out of clothing)

5.  I need to start building up a variety, but everyday I bring in a Celtic music CD, Book on Tape, StoryBook, and Stuffed Animal.  (I picked up twenty high quality stuffed animals for very cheap at a church rummage sale.)  I need to go to the basement of the Capitol Area District Library where they sell children's books for $.30-.40 each!  I'll buy the whole Disney collection.

6.  I'm learning that the naptime while giving the preschoolers their backrubs to make them go to sleep it's a wonderful time to give them a loving smile, pray for them silently, and re-connect with God each day.

7.  Kids listen much better when you hear them out and take them aside-- when you value their feelings.
