(from 100_snapshots ^^). I think the alligator and babies is the best photo out of them, good composition and lower contrast than the rest ^_^ I just happened to pick the one that's not in the poll.
I wasn't sure if you were looking for critique at all, but if you want some constructive critique, I could tell you what I think.
Good to hear ^_^ I think everyone can learn from everyone else if they'd only ask. Don't take my words as gospel, I'm not a professional photographer, but the recurring problem that I'm seeing with your photos is that they're too contrasty. It seems like many of them were shot mid-day in bright sunlight (which I understand, that's my favorite time to go outside and subsequently my favorite time to photograph), however, your camera can't compensate for that much variation in light and you end up with dark subjects and a washed out sky or background

:D Gorgeous. It really brings out the definition in the cloud and takes a way a lot of the haziness in the grass and castle, which are the main subject, you really want that to pop out.
I must say, I used to be very very against photo editing. I felt it was cheating, but I quickly learned that there are some things you simply can't control when you're out photographing (without spending 1,000s of dollars on equipment and years of experience). You can do a lot to bring out the best of a photo without changing much. This is a good example how a little tweaking can make a good photo into a great photo. ^_^ I'm glad you liked the critique, I just wished I had more experience to share.
I used to agree with your view that editiing pics was cheating. That was before someone pointed out to me that it is exactly the same as manuipulating the exposure from the enlarger when printing your own pictures.
By the way, waldo, I love this shot even more now that you edited it. You HAVE to use the retouched version of this in your portfolio.
