Lovely bit of spam
So I have my chat program on and I get this message:
your friends only posts have been stolen: hxxp://thefannishwaldo.on.nimp.org/?u=bantown
(I've put the X's in so none of you click on it by accident)
from someone I've never heard of.
So I go into a new window and open it without the 'u=bantown' because that looks very code-ish and I had no idea what it would mean.
The URL opened and showed an obscene picture and then started shouting "Hey everytbody!" and shaking the window all over the screen so that I couldn't chase it down and turn it off. I had to force-quit Firefox to make it go away. Gr. Something reasonably virus-ish that affected my Mac. Am. Not. Amused.
Moral of the story: Don't click that.
ETA: I am just made of fifty kinds of fail today. When I rebooted Firefox it asked, "Start new session or restore old session?" I said old session. Stupid, stupid, stupid... that just started that damn spamming thing again.
