Okay, without making this a ridiculously long post...
• This year Illinois switches from the old ISAT state test to the new PARCC common core test.
• ISAT was paper/pencil. PARCC is on computers. Including the long answers in math and reading.
• Kids can't type. Unless they're using their thumbs on their phone. They can't 10 finger key.
• The PARCC is HARD. They really raise the bar on what's expected of kids.
• Thinking and explaining is way harder in front of a keyboard than it is with a pencil until you've had tons of practice.
• Kids can't type.
Which leads me to... I need more iPads in my classroom to help them get ready for this fershlugginah test.
Right now DonorsChoose is matching funds for the first week a project is listed. So if I can get a little less than $500 I'll get two new iPads and covers/cases.
So if I can convince 50 people to part with $10, I'll be all set! So here's me... asking you to help out (again.) :)
Help Waldo get iPads for her classroom.
Sam, if there's anyway this could hit Radio Free Monday, you know, whenever, that would be amazing! Thanks. :) Nevermind, just found the form thingy. :)
