Species: Common Snapping Turtles
I watched these turtles for about fifteen minutes. Someone on Project Noah helped me identify the species and the behavior. Apparently turtles court! Who knew? (Okay, I'm sure
batagur knew). The larger of these turtles had about a sixteen inch diameter shell and the smaller was about 14 inches across. They stayed close together, often locked in an embrace. Aw... turtle love! They never did come out of the water, so these shots were as good as it got.
And for the one kind of twisted soul who wanted video... we have that too...
