Stuff I'm dealing with
* holiday malaise. Over Thanksgiving, oy.
* I now know what's wrong with my laptop - the LCD in the monitor has gone out. Well, is on the way to going out. It still works *very* intermittently, but on Monday (after the OMG insanity of this weekend) I'll have to drop it off to be sent to Texas for repairs. I have no fucking clue where I'm getting the $300 I'll need for it, but being computer less isn't an option when you're job seeking. Not that there are any jobs out there, but.... In the mean time I *can* get a $30 adapter to connect to laptop to the monitor for the ten year old desktop, but I'm trying to avoid it if I can. My iPad can do about 90% of what I need to do on the computer for the week or so until I get it fixed. The serious pain in the ass is needing it to print my labels for Etsy.
* I had already left then post office when it really clicked for me what the counter lady had done. The first two things I was sending were CDs. So I said I wanted to send them media rate. Turned out that sending them fist class was cheaper, so, sure, whatever. The other ten packages I had were all Etsy Orders, many of which were flat and in large padded envelopes. Vaguely, I suppose like shipping a manual or large format paper back book. Post office lady sent like three orders of soaps and bath bombs media mail. O_o. Way cheaper, I suppose, but not exactly uh... Legal? Hope it doesn't cause any weirdness on the customer's end.
* the NIP is going to be born on January 10 at 8:30 a.m. so my parents are squaring away my ticket so I can spend that week in Nashville. Now I just have to put together the money for pet care and parking at the airport.
