There is awesome food in my house.
And soon there will be awesome food in mah belleh.
And it's all Neadod's fault.
See, last week sometime she posted a recipe for making peanut butter cups. Which also had a recipe for s'more cups. And I realized I had everything in the house for both of them but the actual chocolate and the marshmallow cream.
Okay, side note: Who the hell is responsible for the texture and consistency of marshmallow cream? Because OMG that stuff is the WORST!
Anyway, there were groceries this morning, including chocolate chips and marshmallow evilness. I know I've professed my inability to cook many times, but those declarations should have a caveat: I make kick-ass candy. Mom made them by the freezer full around the holidays and for as much as I didn't learn anything about cooking by osmosis, I learned to make amazing candy from her. I can do chocolates in painted molds, chocolates with stuff in them, hard candies, chocolate and hard suckers... all the good stuff. I basically looked over the recipe Nea posted and went, "Right, I remember this now" and set up a double boiler for the chocolate chips and went to town.
I made half a batch of s'mores and half a batch of peanut butter. Of course, I didn't think to make half a batch of peanut butter filling, so I have a plastic tub of sweetened peanut butter in my fridge.
Of course, the only way to live comfortably with that mistake is to buy another bag of chocolate chips when I go out tomorrow.
