Summary: It takes a spoon to help Angel realize he's in love

"Spoon. Can you say spoon?" She laughed at Connor's expression before she continued. "And this is called cake." She waved the plate in front of him. "The gang got it for my birthday but I thought it was only fair to share. I know you're too young for it now but when you're older you're going to love it. Trust me." Cordelia sat the huge slice of birthday cake in front of Connor before she placed the silver spoon in his chubby little hand.
"Cordelia, what are you doing?"
Surprised, Cordy turned around and shot Angel a smile from beneath her lashes. "I didn't know you were standing there." She turned back towards Connor just in time. He'd managed to drop the spoon, grab a handful of cake in his fist and was quickly bringing it to his mouth.
A soft smile spread across Angel's face as he watched Cordelia eat the cake off of his son's hands before clearing the rest away with a wet baby washcloth. She had never been more beautiful to him than she was at this moment, with bits of birthday cake clinging to her hair and cooing gently at Connor. And suddenly he knew what his heart had known for a long time. He was in love with Cordy.
Cordy finished cleaning the baby before she gently laid him in the bassinet. "What?" She whispered as she turned towards him.
His smile grew wider at the curiosity on her face. "Nothing." As soon as Gunn and Fred returned, he and Cordy were going to have a long talk about her place in his and Connor's life. And hopefully if everything went his way it would be a permanent place.

“Place, place, this place, that place, I don’t understand!” Steve runs his right hand over his head, his fingers gripping into his hair tearing at it. His left hand is in a tight fist. “Why?” he says, his body visibly trembling and his eyes red and spilling tears. “Didn’t I mean anything to you?”
Danny couldn’t look at Steve though he kept shaking his head in the negative, his hands splayed uselessly. “I told you from day one that I was only here because Grace is here, however, things changed. Rachel and Stan are moving to Manhattan, and I’ll be joining my old precinct in Jersey.”
“So what did we have?” Steve asked weakly, his hand barely moving to indicate the two of them.
“We had a good time, babe. Anyway, take care of yourself.” Danno closed the door softly as he let himself out. His heart skipping a beat when he heard the impact on the closed door. Then he got in his car and was gone.
On the other side of the door a box of chocolate valentines made its crushed splat to the floor while the chocolate pieces marred the door. Across the room the romantic setting was broken by the sobs caused by a wreaked heart.
