Cooking experiment oddly-semi-successful.
Okay, I *love* my 4-quart crockpot, but the truth is, I have to remember that it cooks *fast*. Especially poultry.
Which led me to this:
Chicken... over cooked. And overcooked in a crockpot means mushy. Mushy chicken is wrong in many ways. Wonder if the ferrets would eat it.
Sauce... awesome. On the rice. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better on the chicken with a little less brown sugar.
Rice... I still do not have a complete handle on making rice. I know, I know, incompetent much? But this batch was edible. For 'American' rice, I managed to keep it pretty sticky. Which to me is a win. And with the sauce on it, it was awesome.
I may try it one more time with a much shorter cooking time, even on low.
And now, Neadods and Copperbadge... I'm thinking of trying the crockpot chocolate cake you both recommended. Someone needs to stop me before I slow-bake.
