Some really cool music that I'm listening to, just because:
1. Monade, A Few Steps More - a more laid-back, less Moog-infused but no less occupying first offering from the new French group fronted by Laetitia Sadler (Ms. Stereolab). Standout track is "Deux Portes, Sept Fenetres" (Two Doors, Seven Windows) which has a very Stereolabish pace change in the middle and is my new favourite song to drink to late at night.
2. The Beat, Special Beat Service - not their best album, not their worst, but somewhere in between. Underrated, as such. Standout is "Rotating Head" which was remixed as "March of the Swivelheads" and played in the last bit of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The original is better.
More to follow when I'm not dead tired from some smartarse thinking it would be hilarious to list a matter for 9am in the Coolangatta Magistrates Court...
