Well I'm here in Abilene, Texas, staying until Monday.
I was originally going to run to Amarillo but I only can drive so far in one night. (not to mention the detour I took to Galveston to make sure my Nana was evacuating safely; she did so no worries on that end.) I snapped a photo and compared to a regular picture of the Seawall when I visited Moody Gardens in late June.
this was yesterday of course. No doubt you all have seen today's scene.
That motherfucking hurricane spans the whole Gulf of Mexico. It looks to be potentially devastating and I'm glad I left when I did. Already there is major flooding in my town and alot of roads closed and blocked. The roads were horrible. It was the first time I have been on my own evacuating a storm. Adrian, Gramma, and all my aunts and uncles loaded up their Tahoes and trucks and left Tuesday night and are currently with family in El Paso.
I am kinda lonely here in the hotel room. I have both computers set up right now and the news has been on TXCN for the past 7 hours. I hope Galveston is still standing by the time I go home. I hope my house will be fine.
Anyways any and all updates about the hurricane will be my public posts and feel free to comment some witiness. I'll be updating maybe every 8 hours from my room and hoping to god I hear from my family soon.
