See, this is why I should know better than to allow comments on mod posts. The people who seem to be under the misapprehension that I meant to invite debate are *adorable,* though. I swear, you do one poll about group policy, like a year ago, and people apparently start thinking that Livejournal's a democracy.
Random BSG pimp: If you don't usually listen to the commentary podcasts, you should go download the one for episode 2x19 anyway. It's just very funny, with Ron Moore and his wife snarking at each other about the show and the fandom and Ron himself. It still has the occasional bursts of mild pretention, but I guess that's not really so surprising.
Random story recommendations: Like Describing the Alphabet by Mosca is an involving, completely convincing Mal/Jayne story with a side of Kaylee/Inara and all the canon pairings. (Which, uh, really earns its NC-17 rating in re: the boyslash, just to warn those less enthused about that than I am.) And my favorite remix story so far was Sitting by the Roadside (Ghosts Riding Shotgun Remix), a perfect gen Gilmore Girls story about an adult Rory and a ghostly Emily. Almost the entire cast is featured, and everyone's characterization is just spot-on, but the Emily voice is especially amazing because of its mix of snark and sentiment.
Uh, also, I kind of hate to put this here, but my cousin's a finalist in a contest to win a free wedding, and people are supposed to vote online for the winner here. The site design's terrible, and they ask you way too many questions (including home address, which I flat-out lied about and gave my work one), but I thought I'd just link to it and ask anyone who's got a minute to go vote, as she's on the short list of relatives I don't despise. She and her fiancee are the last couple, Rachel and Chris.
