Tuesdays with Mommy
Tuesday is my day with Arwen. It's hard for a second child sometimes, to get the kind of time, alone with mom that the first child did. When Arwen was born, I made the decision that I would do my best to try and prevent that from happening. So, every Tuesday Arwen and I make the trek to Kindermusik, which, much like her big sister she absolutely adores. I can't say enough good things about Beth and Kathy and the program offered by Little Hands Kindersmusik (www.littlehands.com), and in another year Sayali will actually be a Kindermusik graduate.
Arwen, however, is just starting out with the Village class, a half an hour during which babies get to squeal with glee while shaking plastic eggs, bells, clackers and beating drums...and moms get to look absolutely ridiculous dancing around with a baby in their arms.
After kindermusik, we generally head for lunch, and then often to the park for swinging or walking. While often we bring lunch to the park, today we opted (ok, Mom opted) for sushi at a local all you can eat lunch buffet. Arwen, always a good eater could not get enough of the Unagi--she was so cute, eating piece after piece of it, being certain not to drop any.
I think we're doing well with this mission--Sayali gets a ton of mom or dad only time, not to mention, abundant Grammy time. So Arwen and I will keep making our trek to kindermusik...and I can hope that she soon becomes a more talkative lunch partner, as right now her vocabulary is limited to cup, daddy and bath.
