And the Emmy doesn't go to...

Sep 23, 2013 14:31

So, last night were the Emmy Awards and the world is still spinning even though 30 Rock so should have won. But still, there were a few performances which weren't even nominated this year but totally should have been.
So here are my personal Alterna-Emmy Awards 2013:

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series

Eden Sher - The Middle

Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series

Damon Wayans, Jr. - Happy Endings

This was actually the toughest category to decide. Adam Scott, Chris Pratt, Charlie McDermott or Taran Killam could have showed up here as well but in the end I have to give props to Wayans who always gives 110% no matter how silly his scenes are.

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series

Sutton Foster - Bunheads

It was a close race with Ben & Kate's Dakota Johnson, but Foster had all that difficult Sherman-Palladino dialogue to deliver and excelled.

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series

Jake M. Johnson - New Girl

Closely followed by Nathan Fielder for Nathan For You.

Outstanding Comedy Series

New Girl

30 Rock should have won for its fantastic final season, but the only non-nominated show that came close this year was New Girl which I didn't even like that much in its first season, but the second season was a huge step up in laughs and character work.

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series

Monica Potter - Parenthood

Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series

Ryan Cartwright - Alphas

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series

Tatiana Maslany - Orphan Black

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series (tie)

Hugh Dancy - Hannibal

Aden Young - Rectify

Outstanding Drama Series

The Americans
