I was planning on doing some major apartment cleaning tonight. My goal was to tackle the kitchen and clean *everything* in it - the floor, the cabinets, the refrigerator, the oven, everything. I also planned on working out and making stuffed tilapia for dinner.
I worked out -- a lovely 45-minute walk around the area, alongside my evil twin -- and I made dinner, but somewhere between the baking and the eating of the tilapia, I downed the remainder of a bottle of red wine that has been sitting in my refrigerator for a couple months. It was maybe 1/4th of the bottle... didn't think it would have much of an effect... I was wrong.
It is now 8 p.m., and all I want to do is go to bed. I had a yummy and very filling dinner (the aforementioned stuffed tilapia, along with sauteed veggies, some bread, and of course, the wine), I got in a good walk and some fresh air, and I had a busy day at the office.
As I often ask my evil twin, when did we get old? Seriously! I used to stay up until 3 a.m. and get up at 7 a.m. for an 8:30 a.m. class, during my college years. I could make it through the entire day of classes, plus a handful of hours at a part-time job, plus either several hours of homework and/or hanging out with friends. What the hell happened?
In other news, Kristy mentioned thin mints earlier tonight and I remembered that I had some hanging out in my freezer (they're the best when they're cold!). So now I'm waiting for my fish and wine to settle before I head into the dessert portion of the evening, which will be thin mints. Yum.
