You're originally from Florida, right? How did you handle it down there? I'm dying in this heat.

Virtually every place I went to indoors in Florida was air-conditioned. Plus my parents always had cars with air-conditioning. So unless you planned to be outside for very long, you weren't too far from comfort. It was worse in places that see more wintry conditions because it was a toss-up if the place you were going would be comfortable or not &, certainly when I lived in Boston, underground subway platforms were definitely NOT pleasant at all.

When it sucked the most in Florida was during football practice in summer & early fall. Plus the overall dampness in the air you feel & smell when you first arrive after not being there in awhile, or ever.

Yeah. Me stoopid. I decided against getting AC in my car because I thought "Pishaw! It only gets hot in Vancouver for two weeks, the rest is bearable." I guess the whole Northwest isn't really prepared for hot weather like typical hot weather places are.

Pishaw. indeed.

Wait...

How old is your vehicle? It's rare these days to have cars come with a/c not standard.

Toyota still has base models without A/C. I'm thinking of buying on of the Kia Souls. They give you so much for so little. Or, when the come into Canada, I at least want to look at the Scion XB.

I like the look of the Soul, & the Nissan Cube. I'm not a big fan of the xB... I like the concept of the xB but have never cared for the styling.

We looked at the Cube too, but that weird wrap around rear window freaks me out a little. :o) The nice thing about the Soul is how much you get for so little. My Matrix was 18,000 when I bought it seven years ago, and it is the base model, no AC, no power anything, and a manual tranny. You can get the Soul for 19,000 with all the fixin's including all the stuff.

Another thing about the Cube: the rear door swings out rather than opening upward so if you parallel park a lot it could be impossible getting stuff out of the rear. I don't believe the rear glass opens independently from the entire rear door either.

What colour would you get?

I'm boring, but I usually go for grey/silver. You don't have to wash it as much. :o)
