JARED HARRIS AS MORIARTY? I AM OUTRAGED. Wait, who?
"Jared Harris has signed on to play the villain in the upcoming “Sherlock” sequel, “Sherlock Holmes 2.” Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow are in charge of the sequel to the 2009 blockbuster.
Harris will join the cast in the role of Moriarty, the villain from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic tale. In Doyle’s version Moriarty is a criminal genius who runs a vast criminal network. Harris is the second actor to join the project this week after Stephen Fry joined the cast as Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock’s brother. Guy Ritchie is directing the sequel which is expected in theaters by December 16, 2011.
Harris is most well known for his role on the current AMC series “Mad Men.” He has also appeared in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Extraordinary Measures,” and had a recurring role on the television series “Fringe.”"
