I just booked my flight to WGT. Everything seems to be falling into place nicely. I used my ff miles to buy a one-way to LHR for Whitby, then booked a multi-city from LHR-ORD and then ORD--> BER for WGT, which turned out to be cheaper than a rt to/from BER. For all three segments the total cost was only $667 and now I have an open ended return in Jun.
My cousin is getting married in Portugal on Aug. 14. I'm about 70% positive I'm going to spend 2 months abroad, just wandering without a destination. I will rendezvous with my brother in Rome the week before and sometime I will be in Greece to visit Dr. Olga, but everything else is open ended. The only things preventing me are my cats, if I can't find someone to care for them while I'm away, and a number of business/personal opportunities forming.
I want to do a thoroughly minimalist European tour, ala Sun Tzu, where I show up with the essentials and secure things on location as I need them.
I can still work on my blog and can practice kung fu & excerise anywhere. If I can find some sort of 3G/4G wireless data plan in Europe I'm all set. I'm starting to see this cloud of stress/anger clearing. It's still there, but I know once I leave my position, a big source of it will disappear.
