Made it to ORD without incident. I was lucky enough to sit next to a nice woman who was on her way to Jakarta via LHR. She was with a 2 year old. I was worried about the crying, but the little girl just slept. She was muslim and we commiserated about how AA screwed up our meal preferences. We both had little or nothing to eat. I have more than half ( Read more... )

copenhagen sounds amazing. i plan to visit malmo next year, i should check out c. as well since its not too far.

im not happy about hearing berlin is expensive, especially bc we didnt find anyone on couchsurfing so we have to pay for a hostel :\ i had friends living in berlin this year and they said its as cheap as hungary. (not sure if you consider hungary cheap or expensive..)

I would love to come back here in the Spring when the weather is better. There are dedicated bicycle lanes everywhere. For 10 or 15eu/day (depending on your bicycle preference, you get a great opportunity to see so much more of the city, in a fraction of the time ( ... )

i probably misunderstood you then, ooops.

we had a place to stay through that couchsurfing site but they pulled out last minute. we had a hostel booked for this exact reason but it was too late to look for a new place or cancel the hostel booking. otherwise i would have asked you about this, i remember you had friends there so thanks for the offer! (: next time...
i wish i had a spare room so i could offer this for people visiting my city.

i dont really know where our hostel is, i know nothing about the city! will see tomorrow morning (:
i think i have your cell number... endig with 371?

Yep, that's my number. We are going to the DDR museum this afternoon, but I don't have any plans later tonight. Tomorrow, we leave for Zurich, so I'm not sure we'll be able to meet up.

If not, I may be in Budapest this spring. I met up with my friend Ian, whose an airline pilot for Continental. After talking about Budapest, he seemed really interested in going post WGT. I'll probably go along if he goes.

Hve Fun!

When you said it was your 1st time in Berlin, I knew you wouldn't have much time to meet up. I'm hoping to start in Athens, travel up the Adriatic Sea to Zagreb and then shoot over to Budapest before WGT. I hope I can meet your cats. :)

I have a leetle laptop that is the size of a book. I write my entries on the train and then post them when I find an open wireless connection.

Interesting - I was looking at city-break packages from lastminute.com and Berlin was twice as expensive as Vienna.

Scandinavian countries have always been notoriously expensive, though, so it's no surprise that Copenhagen is hard on the budget. I still want to go, mind.
