Part of the reason why Convergence just doesn't cut it for me anymore is that I can come to Germany for the same price as it costs me to go to Convergence, but can see a buttload of bands, and dance ´til 8am with a crapload of my friends. More of my scattered friends go to Treffen these days, particularly my East Coast, UK and European friends. It's just as easy to meet up with them given the unlimited tram rides and Smartphone apps.
In terms of Cost:
$368US/plane ticket.
5 days lodging + ticket to all venues/afterparties, + unlimited tram rides + full color glossy booklet = $214EU or $305USD.
Train Ticket. $35EU = $50US
Spending money for food, booze, etc.. less than $200US.
I spent much more money going to Tampa last year than going to Treffen.

To calculate the WGT costs separate from the rest of my travels, I pretended I didn't stay in London and took the Easyjet flight straight through to Berlin, a one-way train to Leipzig and a one-way back to Frankfurt. The Leipzig train price is 1/2 of what I paid for the return trip to Berlin.
The train price to Frankfurt is the current advance price. I paid my friend in Cash (EU) for the ticket/lodging which came from the ATM. Cash was calculated based on the entire 17 day average daily ATM withdrawl of $87.88/day. This money was used to buy booze, food, cab rides, 2 shirts, and dinner for SLS & Justin who let me stay with them in Berlin for 1 night. In reality, I spent less @ WGT as I bought more than 1/2 my food from the supermarket and prepared it at the Flat.
In terms of friends, @ I hung out with 11 people from my lj friends list, 23 people from my myspace friends and 17 people from my facebook friends @ WGT.
