March 13. I took pictures for a ADIML last year, but never posted. So I did the day again. Here are both days. :}
So. 15. Sophomore, Clark High School. Second day back from Spring Break.
I sleep in a bit.
And it doesn't look like a half bad day outside.
Just getting ready for school, you know the usual.
I'm wearing this yarn bracelet because some kids at school are doing this no talk for the week to like raise awareness for women and children abuses, and were collecting donations.. so I donated and got purple string to wear.
I go to get some breakfast, and eat my Cheerios and yogurt.
And I notice it's getting a little late... School starts at 9am.
Well good thing at least we live about a five minute drive away.
So that white car is my brothers at the moment, BUT he's in Tokyo for the week. Haha, nothing big. You know. Just Tokyo Japan. His team (his fiancee and another guy) at their university (University of Texas at Dallas, UTD) placed in this computer programing competition and got to go to Tokyo for the world finals!
Meanwhile, I get to drive the car to school. And my mom happens to work at my high school (counselor secretary). So I've only got my permit now so it works out that we both go to the same school and I get to do my driving. But it will be my car eventually! Pretty much once summer starts it's mine.
(sorry for such long detail.)
My friend Nicky, a freshman, she went to GERMANY for Spring Break (why does everyone I know get to go out of country?? haha) but she bought me some gummy bears and a post card of a German band.
First Period, Chemistry
We did this amusing lab where we tested all these dish soaps, with and without glycerin. We pretty much just poured it all over the tables and blew bubbles in them to see how big we could make them. There was some purpose to it. But no, the lab was to blow the bubbles and measure the diameters.
Second Period, Algebra 2. But we had a fire drill. I found Jennifer outside.
Third Period, Band. But I didn't get any pictures there.
Fourth Period, English. It starts out with a study hall, then lunch, then class.
Kendall.
Alex and Doug.
I love my lunch group.
Fifth Period, German 2.
Austin, Rachel.
We never seem to do anything in that class.
Sixth Period, World History.
Jennifer, Rana.
We obviously had class time to do some assignment, but we'd rather chat and such.
Typical work day in that class.
Seventh Period, I have Ensemble class.
It's pretty much just a free practice time.
And again I don't take any pictures in the band hall. What's up with that?
But I go outside to see the sky was really dark.
And say by to Chelsea, in her new mustang she got over Spring Break.
My mom brings around the car and picks me up.
She didn't want me driving in the terrible rain.
I jump in the back.
There's the back of the school thru the rained window.
Yeahh. Rain. Lots of it.
But look how green the grass looks!
We made a stop at the bank, and I just got really tired, and try napping for a moment.
And now look, it stopped raining.
My dad is at some meeting tonight, so I make my mom and I some grilled cheese and tomato soup.
Rather enjoyable.
I check outside to see how it looks.
I make some picture for my friend. We've got our band trip coming up and we're getting excited.
(Yeah.. it's a month and a half away.. but still..)
And I practice some euphonium.
Another check outside. Getting dark.
I work on another picture for another friend.
Yeah, my two pictures don't make very good sense. They're rather random.
THEN I begin my homework..
My dad gets home later and we go out running.
It was humid at heck.
I take a quick shower and I get to bed at 11:40.
Oh, and I have to wake up early tomorrow to get to sectionals. They start at like 7 or 7:30. Oh boy.
That's as much as I could recall from that day with those pictures.
Now 16. Junior, at Plano East Senior High School. Two days until Spring Break.
GOOD MORNING. (if you look close, you can see my behind the clock.)
I get ready pretty quick. It's still so dark outside!
AND I wear the same shirt as last year for fun.
It's still dark when I leave. I skip breakfast because there's nothing really to eat in the kitchen. But I've got some pop tarts in my car.
I always have to wait a long time at the light leaving my neighborhood. It takes forever.
It's light by time I get to school. (about a good fifteen minute drive from home.)
I get the front spot next to the band hall, and I go right to hang out in there.. just like I have to the past 2.5 years- hang out in the band hall before classes.
No one else has gotten here yet.. Our band hall is new this year by the way.
People start coming in. Most of us take this option "Zero Hour" where instead of starting at 9, getting out at 4:15, we start at 8, and get out at 3:19.
We've got a pond in the middle of our campus. I love this open campus deal compared to last year when we were stuck inside all day, with no windows.
Zero Hour, Physics.
Our teacher was gone, so we joined another class who had a sub, who was late.
We just worked on this mirror/ray diagram all period.
I walk with Joellen and Stephanie back to the Fine Arts building.
They've got Jazz Band, I've got Music Theory.
First Period, Music Theory AP.
Lauren decided to come sit by me. I don't really talk to another in that class.. except her, but she usually sits far away. We made plans to go to lunch on Friday.
We took notes today on Melodic fragments.
Second Period, German 3.
Nick and Rachel, Austin.
I always get attractive pictures.
The same Rachel and Austin from German 2 last year.
We had some "Bus Drill" thing today, were we all had to go get on buses, and do an evacuation drill thru the back door.. A lot of nonsense. We've had the same German teacher all three years, so we didn't do much work again.
Third Period, Pre-Cal.
We went over a quiz and reviewed for Friday's text.
All of which I've been SO lost on.
Fourth Period, Lunch and Band.
Forth period is two hours long, and one of the two hours, you have lunch pretty much.
BUT I skip lunch to review for two quizzes I have later in the day.
BUT I fall asleep in the band hall instead. I've been so tired lately.
A lot of kids seem to skip lunch to do homework/school work/etc.
Fifth Period, AP US History.
We took notes the whole period over the chapter, and since we were quiet, we took the "easy" version of the quiz, which was pretty much just only having to answer half the questions, picking any one we wanted that we knew best.
Sixth Period, AP English.
I don't have a picture in that class, but I got one of the pond on the way! Haha.
SO it's Duck Week, a week we have dedicated to the ducks pretty much.
TOO BAD though there have been hardly any ducks this week. :(
English we have a quiz over In Cold Blood and then discuss the book some.
Since I've got no seventh period, but have a meeting once school gets out, I go get food!
I invited Hayley and Jacob. And yes, I drive around with that pink elephant in my car. So random.
Look, the sky is dark again like last year!
Seriously, you can get all four seasons during one week while in Texas. One day it's snowing. Then it's warm and sunny, then it's windy and chilly, then it's nice and cool.
Hayley, Jacob. We go to one Sonic so I can eat something.
Jacob got a Cherry-Chocolate-Coke. Disgusting. Haha.
I ordered like a grilled cheese, corn dog, tater tots, and a small coke.
I've been so hungry all day, having eaten nothing.
I drop off Hayley at her apartment and Jacob and I go back for the NHS meeting.
It's pretty much a big waste of time. We spend all this time checking in, getting our sheets signed. Then they spend the meeting reading to us from fliers, possible service hour projects, and then once over, we all rush to get our sheets now stamped.
It's silly really. Then it's over. That's all..
But then I enjoy driving home. No hurry. It's bright, and nice outside. So I roll down my windows and turn up Oasis and sing along as loud as possible. My favorite thing to do.
Right when I get home around five, I work on shirts for Duck week for myself and Jennifer.
While I let the front dry, I decide my room needs some cleaning. I work on my closet for a while.
Then my dad happens to be at a meeting again tonight like last year (he's not gone that often really), so my mom sends me to get us some dinner. She pays for my gas/insurance/car so I never mind driving to pick up dinner, etc.
This time I go to a different Sonic, the one I happen to work at.
Taylor is just about off work, and I stick around so I can give him a ride home (or else he'd have to roller skate home.)
And Ali is my car hop, and obviously doesn't enjoy pictures.
I got a Sante Fe Chicken Salad. My favorite.
I remember I have to write this Concert Critique for band. We have an option of doing extra work to get honors credit for our GPA, and one of the assignments is an outside concert critique.
It's not hard or anything, it just takes a while.
And it can't be any first person, which frustrated me a little.
I sort and count the money I've collected for my girl scout cookies.
I go and quick finish the last things for the shirts.
THEN like always, I start my homework last, very late, lying in bed.
The Physics worksheets aren't too hard.
I try reviewing for my PreCal test.. but it's useless.
Polar graphs and points, converting to rectangular?
No idea.
And I finally go to sleep. It must have been like 1 or 2am. I forget.
All that matters now is that it's Spring Break. :)
Hope you somewhat enjoyed my then-and-now posts, or found it somewhat interesting.
