Facebook Status War, and Bonfire update!

Nov 05, 2008 09:38

Immediately after the declaration of Obama's win, I went to Facebook and refreshed the homepage every few seconds to watch all the fun and happy status updates that were being thrown around.
I only saw one negative comment, which was promtly deleted by the poster, but I got to see it nonetheless. It read (and this is not exact, but I think it's pretty close) "God allowed Hitler, Stalin, Pol-Pot, Mussolini, etc to be succesful in their time, I pray He knows what He's doing now."
I was floored. This, from a guy that I worked with. I respected his opinion as an active Republican and enjoyed (sorta) his company. I am pissed. The comment was only up for a couple minutes, when I went to make a reply it was gone.
When you remove someone from your friend's list, do they get a notification that they suck or something? Or are they just unable from that point to view your info? I'm thinking I'm going to cull the herd today.

In other news, I'm back in Polk County for the rest of the week, and hopefully will finish the loose ends of this deck. There's a new ramp to be built and two sets of stairs to take care of. If I can get ahold of my mom's camera and cable, I'll post pictures of it before too long.

The Polk County Bonfire will be held on Saturday the 15th, weather permitting. There's plenty of space to crash at the house, and a pancake and bloody mary breakfast on Sunday morning cooked with love by me. I hope evryone can make it. I'll try to have a Facebook event up and running this afternoon.

Happy Obama Day,
- E

PS: Also, with a nod to Geoff who has pointed it out, WTF is up with NC still not reporting?! Has anyone heard anything about a recount or something? I kinda had my heart set on being a blue state this time. Boooooooooo for no info!
