Well I'm back. I accomplished both of my objectives in the city. I didn't get back in time for circuits, and I have no regrets. When I did get back I went to the Bryant Museum to have a look around, something I had been meaning to do since I got here. After I looked through it I bought a book in the gift store about Alabama vs. Auburn. It's a nice big hardcover book, and it was on sale for $5! I'll add it to my American history tapes, as well as the book I bought a week or two ago, Straight From the Gut by Jack Welch (former CEO of General Electric) as part of my efforts to become knowledgeable about the history of my surroundings. Of course I won't have time to read these until I get up to Indiana, but at least I have them already.
