Homemade poi love.

I'm practicing with a set of poi the Navitas made for me, out of stuff he found at a dollar store in Châteauguay. They're made from really cheap plastic yellow rope, black electrical tape, and tennis balls so ghetto, they're actually rejects marketed as dog toys. I love them. But you'd think they wouldn't be too bad to get hit with. Turns out they hurt like a son of a bitch. And there I was, trying to learn how to do backwards 3-beat weaves with them. Meaning I kept hitting myself in the head and face, due to the nature of the move. I seriously need my bike helmet. Unfortunately, it's a long ass drive away from me, now that I'm in Savannah for the week.

...Which means, dontchaknow, that I'll be spinning fire on the beach before I leave.

For the record, I nailed that damn backwards 3-beat weave. Now to perfect it, integrate it into all variations of the fountain, and use it with fire. 360-degree poi moves are to be MINE, bitches.

love, movement arts, the navitas, poi
