Meelosapiens, the Russian God of Poi
The movement arts (sometimes called "the flow arts") world has its own celebrities. Canada has Nick Woolsey. Japan has Yuta. Sweden has Nevisoul. The United States has Sage, whose performances are with Sangre del Sol.
Now, Russia has Mel, aka Meelosapiens. Watching him gives me goosebumps, which is difficult to accomplish with someone who is constantly exposed to fire performing. At a mere twenty years old, his skill is absolutely godlike - something one might attribute to his brief bio section on his youtube account, which reads:
"No eat, no drink, no sleep, no fuck... SPIN! SPIN! SPIN!"
I should make a plaque saying that to hang on my bedroom wall, as a motivator to get to do this.
There is a non-fire video he's posted over at dailymotion, which is a solid twelve minutes long. But that's at least how long he needs just to showcase his range, because it's staggering.
