I usually don't make any 'In Review' posts until after January 1st, but I'm so bored! So, here's 2007 Fandom in Review via
stabbim.
What shows/fandoms did you acquire in 2007?
HA. In 2007 I started watching Roswell, Due South, Torchwood, Fullmetal Alchemist, Pushing Daises, Chuck, Reaper, Moonlight, Robin Hood, Project Runway, Kyou Kara Maou, Death Note, Loveless, X, and Gakuen Heaven. (I suspect I'm forgetting more anime series, though.) Of those I'm really taken with FMA, Chuck, Pushing Daises, and Death Note. I've totally fallen in fandom with FMA. ♥
What shows/fandoms did you let go of in 2007?
I picked up and dropped Bionic Woman because it just didn't hold my interest. If Katee Sackhoff had been the main character, yeah, maybe. I put Due South to the side, but will get back to it. Too many of my friends love it for me to give up on it, plus I do like Frasier quite a bit. Stargate: Atlantis has once again pulled me back with the last two episodes, so bully for them.
What shows/fandoms did you mean to get into but didn't in 2007?
Rome, Dexter, Six Feet Under, West Wing
What shows/fandoms do you intend to check out in 2008?
The Sarah Connor Chronicles is the only mid-season show I can think of right now. Other than that, I'm not "planning" to check out anything beyond what's currently in my Netflix queue (and what
katilara and
honkie_mcgee bring me to watch). I'm sure I'll go through another anime series, and maybe I'll finally start Six Feet Under since I've been wanting to for years.
What shows/fandoms do you think you might let go of unless things significantly improve in 2008?
Reaper's been on my chopping block all season, but scheduling and half-way decent episodes keep me coming back.
What shows/fandoms do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?
Stargate: Atlantis. Because there's a chance that something on that show will be applicable to SG-1 and I have to know! (This is called "obsession," boys and girls.)
What show impressed you most in 2007?
Chuck, Chuck, Chuck, Chuck, Chuck. I love Chuck. I didn't think that I would, but it's the perfect blend of action, humor, and romance. It's particularly humorous given what I know of the inner workings of Best Buy, so the Chuck-verse Buy More is totally awesome. Plus Adam Baldwin! ♥ Seriously, I thought Pushing Daises would be my favorite (death and Lee Pace; what's not to love?), but Chuck is a better crafted show.
Though, the 2007 Show To Most Often Make My Brain Fall Out Of My Head was Fullmetal Alchemist. Yeah. That anime has delicious twists that make me so very happy. And, unlike most animated series, I hurt when characters died.
