Right, today and yesterday it's been bangkok, which the lonely planet calls a steamy metropolis, and if by steamy they mean smoggy, and by metropolis they mean....ummm... big sprawling city, then yeah. hmmmm, that didn't come out nearly as witty as i would have liked.
I've been really surprised at how many lawn mower stores there are here for how few yards there are. I've only seen four yards so far, and they're in public parks and temples.
There are also tons of little tables on the side of the road with noodles and unidentifiable foods on them, some are wonderful, and some are meaty. Many people can understand "no meat" and it seems very common, because if you're cheap you don't get the meat (not just meatless for vegetarians). Some don't understand a word of english, which is funny because they stick out a lot, almost everyone speaks english perfectly, which is really quite odd.
