Single-Tasking
Yeah I'm trying to learn the art of singletasking and so far no good.
Anyway.. my first big accomplishment of the day was getting the voip phones in the warehouse working.
Turns out the modem just needed a reset. (This is what happens when you have phone-lines through the internet..should your internet go down for any reason.. there goes your phone service!) The assumption was that there was probably a power outtage (we had a few of those due to high winds) and that it didn't reset itself right.
The craziest thing ofcourse was trying to call ATT without any information. I have no idea what the phone number in the warehouse line is since I made it a month ago and I had no reason to remember the number (or so I thought) since I really only made the phone line for the dsl purposes.
Anywho..once again it's ME to the rescue!
On the one hand I"m flattered in my boss's faith in my IT skills..on the other hand..I think it's less faith and more "here you are gonna be responsible for this whether you like or not". I'm not so sure I like this responsibility. Any time ANYTHING goes wrong with the phones I get this look like it's MY fault. Urgh.
In other "to do list news" I have an exam on November 4th for my Sociology of Gender class. I haven't done ANY of the reading yet. It's 3 chapters. Each chapter has 5-6 articles. 18 articles in a week.. hmmmmm.
I remembered to bring my 3cup stainless water bottle to work today. I do not look forward to the trip to the fourth floor everytime I need to pee!
They are dragging out the process of remodeling our bathrooms just to spite me! (mmhmm)
I'm also curious to know how the meeting with the building manager went yesterday. We have a notice to vacate the office by the 31st of October. Yesterday the management came in with people to look at our office. We are definitely moving I guess..but come November 1st we are going to be squatters..
Oh joy!
