Egad, would you kill me if I tried to rewrite zero two? lol; I really do agree with you on many points. I loved Zero Two, your commentaries have made me look at it at a different way. It really was butchered up. And even as a kid i loved Ken. I even wrote "Laura Ichijouji" on my mirror in nail polish. After 10 years it's still there... Erk.

On the contrary--I really wish somebody would rewrite Adventure 02. I've even though about do that on occaision, and I might when I have a little more free time to spare.

It's been done before and I'm sure it'll be done again.

If I had to guess at some of the most popular "topics" or choices of ideas for Digimon fanfiction, I'm sure a rewrite/alternate version of 02 is way up there.

Huh, all the fics I was thinking of seem to be post-02. I'm sure post-02 fics are one of the most popular, if not the most popular topic for Digimon fanfiction.

You should probably ask someone who reads more of this stuff than me, but look at this and see if there's anything there that looks good. Looking through it quickly, I saw that there is at least one alt-02 fic there.

So it's been done before, and well, I would say.
That doesn't mean that no one else should though.
