Hmm... haven't posted in a long long time. But a big old "blah" on explaining why.
Just finished Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez. I enjoyed it, but like a lot of first novels it seemed to have trouble living up to all that it promised. It seems easier for an author to build up to a big event than to actually deliver the big event. One good thing though, it made me want to finally get around to reading some Piri Thomas.
Starting White Teeth by Zadie Smith tonight... though I have recently started playing World of Warcraft and so it will be interesting to see if her writing is good enough to keep me from signing on (and yet again loosing another night to that addictive game).
