(no subject)
So today was pretty good. I took today off from work to go to Rockport, MA with mom and the art association. For once, I wasn't the youngest person there, and we didn't have to do things a big group. We got there any td had an awesome catered lunch at a restaurant there and then we got to go off on our own and look at all the galleries and shops there. It was so much bigger than I expected! We didn't even get to see half of it! We saw a few of the galleries, did a little shopping and then went a little further down and took some pictures of the ocean. In one of the galleries, there was this mixed media piece- decoupage and I think acrylic. There were decoupaged newspaper articles, pieces of one dollar bills, and random stuff, like an ex-lax box, candy wrapper and cigarettes and their boxes with splattered paint. In the middle, it had a picture of two pears looking out the window with a bird between them and a flamingo drinking out of some form of water in front of them. Above it, it said "the bird and pears are saying their prayers." I seriously stood there and looked at it for quite a while. We took a picture of it and I am going to do my own copy cat version (not the same subject matter!) because it cost $10,000 (it was a big piece)! But it was still sweet as hell. We didn't get home until 8:30 though and I was getting really sick of being on the bus and was so hungry (we didn't eat dinner), but it was very relaxing. It felt good to be by the ocean. It's my first time all summer!
