It's been a long time since my last update. Kind of surprising how quickly time passes.
Living up in Las Vegas now. Nayeon and I are living in a two bedroom apartment right behind the strip. It's not a bad place. Centrally located with a nice view and easy access to everything. They were doing construction on the road for about 3 months. At that time it was pretty much a nightmare getting into our out of the apartment with the constant never ending line of traffic. They're finally done. It's so much better now.
Speaking of Vegas, I watched 2012 last night. It was okay. The scene from Vegas, when they're trying to leave for China, was totally wrong. The orientation, the layout. Everything was wrong.
First, the airport that they had to have taken off from, would need to be McCarran in order for them to be anywhere near the strip. At the airport, the planes take off east west or at a north south slant, away from the strip. So, we have to assume the airport shifted so that the runway points directly towards the strip or perhaps they took a slanted angle away from the dust cloud.
Next, that big sink hole they dive into. The north side would have been about were we live. Behind us is the MGM Grand, MGM Signature hotels, Planet Hollywood, etc. The first casino buildings don't look like that at all. I'm not sure what casinos they were. The version I watched was kind of grainy. They go up a little and then they come down at the Encore and Wynn. Paris, and all those others are south of Wynn.
When they get to Wynn and Encore, the building shapes are concentric arches. If you look a a real image of the buildings, they bend away from each other and there is a lot more room between them.
