just another writer for the dying onion

Pretending to listen to lectures given by teacher after teacher as if the things we were "learning" about in school would ever matter in the future is one of the most obnoxious things i have ever done.
correct me if i'm wrong but shouldnt school be a place that provides us with knowledge on how to live life successfully? not to mention happily.
the way i see it... the four years of highschool that we must complete are filled with more busy work and useless facts that will never be used. plus, they will most likely be forgotten within a short period of time unless you pursue a career in which these facts are constantly drilled into your head.
it also bothers me that many teachers/parents think that just because a student may not get straight A's in school.. it means that they are not as smart as those that do. intelligence is not measured by a persons performance in the classroom, no matter what their report card says. its just plain ridiculous. well, i suppose thats enough for now!
