christmas, a little early
we're 'doing' christmas today. because, well, we never really do anything properly in this family anyway. it turns out we can't all possibly be on the same continent, let alone in the same country, on the 25th of december. we've got the turkey, the trimmings and the hats.
being away from birmingham, and england in general, has made me wonder why i'm there in the first place. it just seemed the logical thing to do when i finished uni, and now the NCTJ course makes it more convenient, but seriously, i'm finding myself getting more and more depressed and fed up about the whole situation because i'm sitting there and stagnating, mentally and physically. oh fuck and i'm moaning again. but really, my aim in 2006 is to leave england, preferably in favour of something a little warmer, and where not everybody looks like they're just waiting to die. meh. i'm knackered and grumpy from being awake most of the night coughing, and whilst i really do want to get back home tomorrow, the thought of going back to work on monday isn't the most cheerful. on the bright side though, my final day of working there will be the 22nd, so at least it's definite now, and not just some vague 'sometime soon'.
