1. What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
Got a redundancy!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't really remember what they were, and I suspect I know what they would have been (mostly living healthier), but I didn't keep them. I'll try next year with renewed vigor -- reposted from last year.. and the year before.. and before that..
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Not really close - a former co-worker from UWA, Alan Albany, who was a really nice guy.
5. What countries did you visit?
Australia, Canada, USA.
6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
Now that we have PR - I'm without any significant goals like that.
7. What dates from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
May 31 - Finding out that my services at UBC would no longer be required.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Dying on my feet instead of living on my knees, when it came to UBC screwing me around.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I'm still addicted to junk food, and do less exercise now I don't walk across campus to lunch every day.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not really - got a cold in October while travelling in Quebec, but that wasn't too bad. Have the start of another one now. The burn mentioned in last year's post has healed, but the skin is still discoloured.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A Canon T4i / 650D :D
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
lizbyrd, for continuing to be awesome.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My new boss at UBC, for trying to make decisions that affect me without asking me, but it backfired on him, so that's ok.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, with a travel a close second.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Two return trips to London Ontario; finally getting vendor certs like NCDA and VCP.
16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
I don't think there's a clear winner this year. I still like "fun."
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier, for sure!
ii. thinner or fatter? adly, slightly fatter. 6kg since last April :P
iii. richer or poorer? Richer. New job pays more than UBC, and UBC had to give me a payout of $lots$

In London Ontario, with technically distantish, but still close relatives.

Stayed in love with Elizabeth :)

NCIS and CSI:NY remain awesome.

Nah, don't think so.

I read a few Kathy Reichs books.

Nothing new

A Canon T4i/650D

An iPad mini 4G/64GB :P

I dunno about films, but we saw Paul McCartney in concert, which was pretty amazing.

Went out to dinner with Liz at Alfa Greco-Roman. I was 33.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I was pretty happy all things considered. I met my goal from last year's about Skyping people back in Perth more, which was great

"Hi, I'm a Mac" + Some business wear

Liz. TV.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Still Felicia Day. It's a brain crush, honestly.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Internet Censorship. I remain fundamentally opposed to ISPs being required to implement a government run framework for censorship of the internet, regardless of the purposes.
37. Who did you miss?
I still miss lots of my friends from Perth.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
The team at my new job is pretty top notch - I enjoy working with them.
