The Federal Court has agreed to review the order to deport Mohamed Harkat to his native Algeria, where he says he will be tortured and killed.
The Ottawa man, who spent three years in jail because of suspected terrorist ties, is relieved by the court's decision, his lawyer, Paul Copeland, said Friday. "It's a bit of good news for him, just before Christmas," Copeland told CBC News Online.
You know, I might be going out on a limb here, but I don't think Mohamed there from Algeria actually cares that it is Christmas time..
