Well my sister and Mark are married now and currently in Rome on their honeymoon. They got married this past Saturday. The ceremony was wonderful and the reception was a blast. It was the best wedding that I have ever been to. I cried during almost the entire ceremony and some of the reception (mostly during my toast and partially when I was too drunk to control my emotions).
Here's kinda the highlights and rundown of how the day went:
We had the Presidental Suite at the ConCorde Inn all weekend. Seriously, the room was the size of an apartment. All of the bridesmaids showed up around 11. The hair and make-up ladies showed up around 11:30 and began working on us. My hair and make-up turned out sooooo cute! I'll hopefully have pics soon to show everyone.
Around 3 we all got dressed then had to help my sister into her gown. She looked gorgeous...exactly like the princess I knew she would look like. At 3:30 we went downstairs and took pictures with just the girls. I had to give the programs to one of the groomsmen so when I found them in the cigar lounge they had me smoke part of a cigar and take a shot of whiskey...that was fabulous. Went up to the suite and basically had to wait around until we were called down to the ceremony. A few mimosas later...we were called.
The ceremony was wonderful...not a dry eye in the house. And I kicked ass at taking care of my sister's train. After the ceremony Chris (the best man) and myself got to sign the marriage liscense then we took even more pictures.
Everyone was already in the ballroom so the bridal party was announced and Chris and I had an awesome entrance. Deanna and Mark cut the cake first then we did the toasts. Dinner was served (awesome, awesome, awesome food!). Then I began drinking....which is never a good idea in my case.....two rum and cokes and two glasses of champange later they did the first dance and bridal party dance. Keep in mind that this is probably only 45 minutes or so into the reception.
I got to dance with Kevin during the bridal party dance which made me really happy. Then the chocolate fountain was opened...note to everyone who is planning on getting married.....GET A CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN! It was a huge hit.
Back to my drinking escapade....Al a groomsman gave me something to drink, then I had a Captian and coke (or at least half of it cause I didn't really like it), then a Jeremy Walleman special drink, then I think I switched over to Sex on the Beaches. Seriously...I have no clue how many of those I drank....and Al gave me something else to drink. But Kevin was awesome and took care of me all evening to make sure that I was ok. i think I took a Jager Bomb at one point in my brother's room then almost stepped on a frog in the hallway...which I have no clue if it really happened or not.
So basically my entire family (grandparents included) has seen me at my drunkess and my stupidess...I really and truly do not think that i have eveer drank that much in my life. Apparently one of my best qoutes from the night was when I told my sister and brother..."I'm so sorry I'm drunk. I'm still in college and don't know my own limitations!" Fabulous
And I know I called some people that night too....umm...if I called you and said anything stupid...sorry....
But Mark and Dee are married and I'm so happy for them!
And I move back to State on Thursday! I'm excited but I know I'm gonna miss Kevin sooo much. And especially my mom because I think we both became really close this summer while planning stuff for my sister.
