Forgotten Beauty
by. Jeff Barnes

For quite some time I’ve witnessed this change,
The past has now gone
So I welcome the day.
It’s as beautiful a sight
As a baby; newborn.
Now come the first moments,
Of a new day, a new morn.
The face of the Earth lies in its wake
As it creeps ever so slowly,
Now comes the new day.
An overlooked beauty, a true treasure so bold,
The sun is to Earth, as age is to old.
It is all part of a plan
Laid out long ago.
It is a small glimpse of Heaven
Where one day I will go.
So I sit here so quiet, in awe and love
Inspired by the maker,
My God up above.
