Here a bear, there a bear....everywhere a bare bear!

Someone asked me, “where ya been? What ya been up to?” Ok, my last post was me venting my more political views. But, what have I been doing?

Well, as I said, I survived a re-org. Since then, even though we did not lose anyone directly, many of my colleagues and me feel like our work load has doubled. It is slowing now, the project I’ve been working so hard on has been rolled out.

Well, we finally went scuba diving, in an aquarium. It was not any aquarium though; it was in Disney’s Epcot “Living Seas”. Check out or video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIIFNEBcZBg

We also took a trip out west (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2110601&l=68479&id=27302108). We had a wonderful time and I really wish we could have spent more time out there. It took me a couple of days to unwind and relax, but once I did, I found my muse. I saw some inspirational places and we did some wonderful things, from the river trip on the Colorado River to the train rides.

Many people will try to hide their past when asked, “Do you have any experience in XXXXX”, no matter what XXXXX is, when having experience will get you further. Well, I am not like many people. A couple of weekends ago, we were supposed to go diving again at Disney, but it did not get enough people and was canceled. T and I decided that we had never been out boating, ever, and there were boat rental places. I called and made a reservation (IRB Boat Rentals - http://www.irbboatrentals.com/). The gentleman was very nice over the phone and even said he’d give us a full day’s rental for the cost of a half day (it is off season down here now). When we got there that morning, he handed me a clip board which had a “skills survey”. I was honest and answered “no” to most everything. Well, I must have sold myself well because after some training/explanation because he did let us out. We had a wonderful time, saw plenty of dolphins and definitely want to go again.( http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-snc1/v351/47/110/572920798/n572920798_1463461_5724.jpg)

T has decided Tampa is home now, I think. She wants to get out and meet people and explore the area. So, for the past couple of weekends, we’ve been exploring Ybor and Channelside. Found some good restaurants and nice places to see movies. We think we will have to do some “clubbin” soon.

This weekend, we went to Necronomicon (http://www.stonehill.org/necro.htm). It is a literary Sci-fi convention in it’s 27th year. It was a good convention, smaller than I expected, but still good. I was able to attend an author’s panel and then talk one on one with a couple of authors. I’m no where near finished writing or edit ready to edit a first draft, but I was able to get some good tips. Hey, I may never be a writer, but I have some stories knowing at me and this may have helped.

Well, there you have it. That’s what I’ve been up to. I’ve got a few projects to keep me busy and there never seems to be enough time, but we are managing and enjoying life.

Peace,

Bear
