Was going through my camera today and decided to put up a few more scenery pictures from New Zealand.
Two from the Rotorua area. 2 lakes in a highly volcanic region:
The house:
The valley (the house is hidden by the grass topped hill, just below the tree line on the top right):
It's a rainforest:
From the top of Mt. Ruapehu:
Lake Taupo:
And where ALL of the water from a 3300 square kilometer catchment goes to:
The island of Tiritiri Matangi is a bird sanctuary and one of the highlghts of my trip - so some birds;
A takahe - one of about 220 in the world;
Bellbird:
A Tui. There's a pretty decent beer named after these guys. Not surprising - they go nuts for nectar:
