i'm finally back! after a two week stay in the adirondacks and a brief bout on either end with an uncooperative computer, i return to the LJ world with a splash. [this country was promised to me from the stars!]
anyway, vacation was good times. the first week my cousins were up with us, and we spent most of the time playing magic: the gathering. we also listened to Guero by Beck, Specials & Co. by The Specials, Prolonging the Magic by Cake, and 40 Oz. To Freedom by Sublime, about ten or twenty times each.
so then they left. so i started reading a lot of books, standouts were The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe, If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregor, and Holes by Louis Sachar. also, David Sedaris is my new hero.
that about sums up vacation. thanks a lot to anyone who called and made me feel loved while i was gone.
so i came home and nothing was really different. my friends were still sketchy, and busy. but on friday night i got to see jeanne and kailyn for the first time in a million years, and that was awesome. and then later, at like 12-30, i found out i was going to warped tour on saturday. muchos intensity.
now, some people might say that if you put me in an oven for an hour and then spooned a good pound of dirt into my mouth, you could achieve the same effect as warped tour. but this isn't true, because that little model there would have accounted for all the soreness the next day from all my Avenged Sevenfold battle wounds. and it certainly wouldn't have led to me dry heaving within fifty feet of gerard way, and really... what could be cooler than that?
sunday i got my wendys fix, then did some sushi with the usual suspects. this was marykate and kelsey's last night in town for some time... they will be missed. in fact, they're missed already, because they left yesterday.
yesterday was a long day of nothing much, goodbye lunch at wendys, shitty movie at julie's, dinner at wendys [where alanna cruelly dumped a tub of ketchup on my head], and then some nice chillaxing at kaiser's. good times.
today i have a buttload of things to do. rahr!! and i have a doctor's appointment at four which is sure to be a drag. but we'll see how it goes.
