Beach Morning

Oct 01, 2006 20:26

Crawled out of bed in the deepest dark hours this morning to make it to the beach for sunrise, and was well rewarded for my efforts...although in not exactly expected ways.  I went to find peace of mind and balance, and found not only that but a strong reminder that the moments of my life evolve to bring me the exact lessons I need to learn.  Sometimes those lessons hit home like a kick in the chest, but after catching my breath...I catch the message.  Usually.  If I am paying the right kind of attention.

Ah well, enough philosophizing ...  some pictures are in order!

The birds were out fishing, as were the dolphins.  Couldn't get a picture of them, but there were at least six or so offshore.

Morning has broken, like the first morning...

Horseshoe crab...an evolutionary throwback..like a ginko tree, a holdout from eons gone.

A beautiful surprise to encounter in my early morning ramblings.

Ever encounter something so quietly and simply beautiful it sets an ache in your heart?

This was actually from the other day, when I had to make a road trip to Cape Charles, VA...a quaint little out-of-the-way place.   Did not have time to stop, so took this from the car as I was driving by.  I might start a collection of lighthouse pictures.  Of course that would mean at least taking a trip to the outer banks....*grin*  ...ahhh, possibilities.

So, life is good.  Even when it brings unexpected endings, it is good.  It is sweet, even if it is bittersweet.  There are no mis-steps, there is only growth, learning, and renewal.
