A glimmer of confidence.
So instead of going to the arts complex to look for a job today, like I should have done, I spent most of the day working on business cards to hand out when I go looking for a job at the arts complex. A somewhat dissatisfying watercolor painting (labored on unto the wee hours of last night and then again this morning), when chopped into 2 x 3.5" squares and affixed with a label bearing my name and number, proved to make some pretty darn snazzy looking cards. It was a much-needed dose of can-do. I've been feeling off all day, and can't tell if it's allergies, nerves, or the constant scream and babble of small children that fill the house (it seems the whole neighborhood comes over to use the trampoline and leave destruction in their wake). Hopefully tomorrow will be better, and I'll get out and (1) turn in my application at the local school district, (2) go to some local art schools and beg them to give me modeling jobs.
