I have lost all faith in human creativity.
I cant believe that movie was such a dismal flop.
I am by no means a critical moviegoer. most people say i am very forgiving about my movies, especially ones based on books. normally i can ignore changes made for the sake of time or continuity. but this was truly horrible. it is as if a beloved family pet was just eviscerated before my wife and i's very eyes.
What really gets me, is the items that werent cut out were so horribly twisted from the book that one can only assume they were TRYING to make the story better. so sombody along the line actually stepped back, looked at the changes made, HORRIBLE EYE GOUGING CHANGES and said "this is a work of art, WAAY batter than the book!" I shiver to think there is a person so delusional.

it made me feel dirty, and not in the usual sort of way.
i wonder what the writer thinks about this, and if S/he will be writing the next one still, or if he/she will just give up on life.
