Crazy me
This is really dumb and pathetic.
But I get really angry and upset when my parents and younger sister try to get me to expand my horizons and like other countries.
I think they're really unnerved by my Australian obsession. They try to get me interested in other countries. "You should go to so and so! You'll like it. It sounds like Sydney."
My dad sent out this whole email today about how parts of South America are just like Australia.
I'm not sure why I get mad.
I guess it goes back to me feeling like I'm in some kind of romantic relationship with a whole damn country.
I feel like a teenager in love....with parents saying "Well, I think you're getting too serious. You need to see other people."
I'm sure there ARE a lot of great countries out there.
But I'm a one country girl. Or at least a one-country-at-a-time girl.
My heart belongs to Australia.
Plus, would I really have the time and energy to balance an obsession with multiple countries?
