SPRING BREAK!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I CAN SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! WOOHOO!

Yes, ladies and gents Lisa has returned once again to her hometown. I got in late last night on the greyhound bus. It was an uneventful ride save the fact it was terribly crowded. There wasn’t a free seat in the coach at all. I had some college student sit next to me, he had headphones, I had headphones and neither of us said barely a word to each other. Ah well. I actually nearly managed a ride to Orlando. Would have saved us over a hundred dollars but it didn’t work out. It’s my stepsister’s birthday this weekend and Dad didn’t know what they were doing to celebrate. (Actually isn’t it usually just Ang and her mother who go to the theme parks and Dad stays home? Hmmmm *grumbles*) Strangely enough, it all turned out well. Who walks through the doors of the bus station but my friend Yecid from the department who I was riding with. Apparently, his roommate unexpectedly decided they wanted to leave Thursday night and Yecid was meeting his cousins on Friday. They had planned their trip so he couldn’t exactly go unexpectedly to Orlando. Poor guy, got ditched and ended up on a bus just like me. Suddenly I’m glad I didn’t need to go with them after all. He has cousins that live near the Avenues Mall, surprisingly. So who knows, we might actually get together to meet for coffee or something this week. You guys would really like him. Maybe he and his cousins could meet us at Roadhouse or something. Any thoughts?

My mothers and I, (I.E. Paige and Mom) decided to immediately pick up some much needed coffee from my favorite B&N store. And upon receiving my coffee who walks through the doors, none other then my beloved Star. Who, after seeing my hair, reached out and asked, “Why? Why?” LOL Apparently I had forgotten to mention I had to dye my hair blonde for the show in which I played a nazi prostitute. (For the rest of you: Consider yourselves warned. Hee hee.)

I’ve been kept really busy since my last entry. So on with the good news!

CABARET decided to add a special Monday performance instead of extending an entire weekend. On Monday night, we not only sold out, we over sold and PACKED THE HOUSE! The line stretched past the main office of the department and beyond. My director said anyone who wanted tickets for our last performance would be able to see the show. People paid $12 to stand for three hours just to see our show. Ladies and Gentlemen I think we have a hit. ^_^ (As I told Gwen, I had pictures of all my friends on my mirror. “Talk about good luck charms, I’m taking you people with me everywhere now!” hee hee)

By the finale, everyone was in tears. It hit me halfway though the final song what we all were losing. This has been the most challenging, difficult, frustrating, and yet the most meaningful experience I have ever had with a show. Never have I been touched so deeply by my cast members or our audiences. Of course being I was still in character as I realized this I spent the rest of the number telling myself, “The Nazis don’t cry…the nazis don’t cry….” And only when the black out hit did I allow tears to fall down my face. In the silence of the final moments, while the little child in the SA brown shirt sings, “Tomorrow belongs to me…” and you hear the train pulling out to go to the concentration camp all we could hear were sniffles and whimpers of each other sobbing that it was all over and letting the moment take us to the very end. The audience bid us farewell with a standing ovation none of us will ever forget.

It was almost unreal to strike the set the next day. It didn’t feel over yet. As our ASM, Amanda said, “I know, right about now I’d be calling half hour to places.” To which we all nearly groaned knowing we would never again be struggling to finish our make up by the preshow. Good times. And so I close that chapter in my life. There will be other auditions, other parts I’ll play, and other casts who will perhaps mean just as much….but I will always look back at my signed Cabaret Poster and smile.

I spent the rest of the week packing and desperately catching up on my neglected classes. I have needed to go home for a while now. There’s a comfort that one gets when you return home to the familiar. But at the same time you feel almost out of place. Like you temporally walked back into a memory of a person you used to be. It makes me feel old to talk about high school and catching up with my friends on what I’ve been up to in Miami. Sometimes, it feels like we haven’t seen each other in years and our high school memories were decades ago. I feel older, I feel like I’ve grown up, I feel like everyone is beginning to change. Which isn’t a bad thing. This year alone, we have all found ourselves changing so much. We aren’t as innocent to the world as we once were. Daydreams of fairy tale endings and childhood plans have altered slightly for the better. And through it all, we still have managed to remain the close knit group we always were. I’m looking forward to seeing my old friends and reminiscing of our favorite memories and talking about what adventures we will find ourselves on next. Welcome Home, Lisa, Welcome Home.

You have a twisted soul! Twisted Souls are never
bad, and actually, are a rarity amongst souls.
These souls are a little combination of
everything, with always a little of their own
chaos to add. Twisted Souls are kind, loving,
weird, zany, temperamental, and very talented.
They have their own firm opinion, and can at
one time be very outspoken and passionate, and
the other time shy and feeling insignificant.
Twisted Souls have good senses of Humor and
other times can be a bore. You can act quite
intelligent at one time, and grasp concepts
easily, while other times they can find it
difficult to understand. Twisted Souls are
always very fun and Kind, and can be party
animals. But, if you love someone, youre
serious about it, intense, and forever loyal.
Congratulations-the world should have more like
you.
