The Drama that was Burma.
Funny how crazy fast time is passing these days - feels like I just blogged about my cereal breakfast only a couple days ago when in actual fact, I haven't updated for an entire week? Did you miss me? ;o)
Despite all the drama leading up to the trip to Burma [even on the morning when I made my way to the airport, I was still pretty certain I was going home instead of jetting off for the weekend], Denise, Jeremy, Xevi and I can now say we've been to Burma and back. If you've been reading my blog for some time you'd probably know that more than anything, I love travelling alone, but putting up with travel companions' idiosyncrasies never fail to amuse as well - this happens after the trip, not during, if you know what I mean.
So on top of visiting a ton of pagodas and kickin' it third world style, we devoured street-side food, rode in a pickup truck with 52 other people in it [can of sardines? complete understatement!], checked out monestries and I roughed it out in two-star hotels and hostels [gasp!]. It was an interesting trip, nevertheless - and Myanmar means I have officially gone to all the countries in Southeast Asia.
Now that that's over, next trip calls for luxury. Watch this space - it's happening in the two months or so! ;o)
