The previous prompt was "carnivorous, servant, swing." I put swing in a different tense; I hope that's OK.
If only she could reach the bridge -
Her pursuer swung over the measly barricade and landed lightly.

“It’s been a pleasure knowing you,” he remarked. He gestured; the surrounding waters rose, cutting the bridge off. “Any last words?”
She glanced around, hoping to find another escape. Failing, she hissed in desperation. “Why?” she demanded. “How could you lower yourself to act as a servant for that carnivorous monster?”
He shrugged, almost apologetically. “My occupational decisions are none of your business. No last words? Okay.” He gestured again; a shard of ice crystallized and hurtled through the air -
Cold blood…
